Midday Sound Bath in Saigon: What Happens in a 90-Minute Session?

The Midday Sound Bath is HEALIVERSE’s 90-minute group sound bath in the middle of the day. You lie down, close your eyes and listen. You don’t need to know how to meditate or play anything. Here’s what actually happens in a session, what it feels like, and who should check first.
Why is it called a “bath”?
There’s no water involved. You lie in the middle of the instruments and the sound comes at you from every side, a bit like soaking in a warm tub. Many guests say they “hear it with their whole body”, because you can actually feel the gong and the Himalayan bowls vibrating through the floor and the mat.
What happens in a Midday Sound Bath?
At HEALIVERSE in Tan Dinh, District 1, the Midday Sound Bath runs from 12:00 to 13:30, Tuesday to Sunday, in small groups of 3 to 6, and follows five steps:
Come 15 minutes early, put your things away and pick a spot. Mats, pillows and blankets are ready.
A few minutes of slow breathing to help your body slow down.
Bowls, gong and harp, one after another. Falling asleep is fine.
Tingsha cymbals signal the end. Move your fingers and toes, then sit up.
Stay for a cup of tea. Nobody has to talk.
The instruments you’ll hear
Each instrument has its own colour. The facilitator weaves them together so the sound moves near and far, deep and bright.
What does it feel like?
It’s different for everyone. Some people feel light and warm, some see images or old memories, and some fall into a deep sleep and only remember the first few bowls. Some sessions just feel like 90 quiet minutes without your phone, which is a gift in itself.
A 2017 observational study of 62 people found participants reported less tension, fatigue and low mood after a singing bowl meditation (Goldsby et al.). It had no control group, so treat it as a promising sign rather than proof. A sound bath is a relaxation experience, not a medical treatment.

Do I need meditation experience?
No. You just lie down and listen, and the facilitator does the rest. Plenty of first-timers have never meditated before. If your mind wanders, that’s normal. Come back to the sound whenever you notice.
What should I wear?
Loose, comfortable clothes, plus a light layer because you may get cool lying still. Eat something light about an hour before and arrive 15 minutes early.
Are sessions in English?
Yes. Kennedy leads sessions in English for international guests. Book online or message WhatsApp +84 939 624 684.
